While the Visitor & Information Center at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge (DDNWR) is closed due to the government shut down, access to Wildlife Drive remains open. The 4-mile long Wildlife Drive allows visitors to take a self-guided tour either by car, by bike, or on foot. Also, nestled on Refuge lands adjacent to Tarpon Bay Recreation Area, Tarpon Bay Explorers offers a variety of nature tours and rentals to help you make the most of your "Ding" Darling NWR experience. Tram Tours and kayak rental access to DDNWR remain available through Tarpon Bay Explorers.
